The Bif&st – Bari International Film & TV Festival (2026 edition) is now accepting applications for the People’s Jury of the competitive section “Per il Cinema Italiano”.
The selection process aims to identify 15 jurors, who will be chosen by the Festival Management at its sole discretion. The Jury will be chaired by a filmmaker of recognised national standing.
The People’s Jury will consist of the 15 jurors selected through this procedure and will be supplemented by a further 10 jurors, identified by local universities from among their students, making a total of 25 jurors.
Mandatory eligibility requirements:
- Candidates must have reached adulthood by the start date of Bif&st (21 March 2026);
- Candidates must not have already been selected for the People’s Jury for the 2025 edition of Bif&st.
Requirements subject to assessment:
– active participation in initiatives promoting film culture (festivals, film seasons, film forums, film clubs, cinema societies, film magazines/blogs, etc.);
– experience and educational and/or professional backgrounds relevant to the film industry;
– an affinity for the world of art and entertainment.
Participation is free of charge and no reimbursement will be provided for any expenses incurred in connection with participation in the programme.
For the purposes of assessing the commitment required of jurors, please note that:
- Screenings of the films in competition will take place from Sunday 22 to Friday 27 March 2026, in Bari, at the Multicinema Galleria. Screenings are scheduled for the afternoon and may also include some morning screenings.
- Jury members are required to make an active and ongoing commitment for the entire duration of the Festival. It is therefore necessary to guarantee attendance at all scheduled events (screenings, meetings and other related activities) as part of the process of viewing and evaluating the films in competition.
For the purposes of assessing the commitment required of jurors, please note that: To apply to join the Jury, you must submit your application to giurie@bifest.it between 9 February 2026 and 25 February 2026, stating in the subject line “Jury application – Per il Cinema Italiano – Bif&st 2026”.
Applications must include the following:
- a brief description of your professional background (maximum 2,000 characters including spaces);
- a statement of reasons for applying (maximum 1,000 characters including spaces);
- your contact details (telephone and email).
The list of the 15 selected jurors will be published on the website www.bifest.it by 6 March 2026.
Those admitted, as per the list published on the Bif&st website, will receive an email with details regarding the first meeting and access to the various venues and screenings.
