THE SELECTION COMMITTEE IS COMPRISED OF

Marzia Gandolfi
Film critic and a graduate of the DAMS faculty in Bologna, she is a regular contributor to MyMovies, Rivista del Cinematografo and Il Ragazzo Selvaggio. In Film TV, she focuses on acting criticism and the study of popular icons. She has contributed to anthologies on Marco Bellocchio, Claude Lelouch, Patrice Leconte and Hou Hsiao-hsien, and has written critical essays for DVD film collections. In 2021, she published Kind of Blue: Barry Jenkins, Variazioni sul corpo afroamericano with Bietti, and La forma dell’attore with Santelli Editore. She recently contributed to the book Isabella Ragonese. Tutta la vita dentro, Cosmo Iannone Editore, 2023, and to issue no. 608 of the magazine BIANCO e NERO (Sophia Loren), Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia, 2024. She has been a member of the short film selection committee for the David di Donatello Awards since 2022. Since 2015, she has been a member of the Presente Italiano committee (Pistoia Film Festival), a competition reserved for Italian feature films, and since 2023 she has been part of the selection committee for the Venice Film Festival.

Massimo Causo
Film critic, programmer and educator, Massimo Causo is a member of the European Film Academy (EFA). Editorial director of Duels, he contributes as a critic to Film TV, Sentieri Selvaggi, Cineforum, Filmcritica Rivista and Il Ragazzo Selvaggio. As a programmer, having previously curated the Onde section of the Turin Film Festival and served as a selector for the International Critics’ Week at the Venice Film Festival, he now collaborates with the Lecce European Film Festival and the MedFilm Festival in Rome. He is the Organising Director of the Monsters Fantastic Film Festival in Taranto and teaches at the DAMS department of the University of Bari, where he runs the Film and Television Criticism Workshop. He has published numerous monographs and essays on cinema, its trends and its filmmakers.

Marina Sanna
Journalist and film critic. A graduate in Political Science, she is the editor-in-chief of “Rivista del Cinematografo” and the online daily “cinematografo.it”, published by the Fondazione Ente dello Spettacolo. She has worked with the Adnkronos press agency and, over the years, has published interviews, reviews and in-depth articles in other publications and catalogues, as well as contributing to the organisation and promotion of various artistic events. In 2003, she made a documentary on Federico Fellini to mark the tenth anniversary of his death, entitled “Fellini a New York”. She has been a member of international film and television juries on several occasions, including the Emmy Awards, FIPRESCI and SIGNIS, and the Italian Controcampo jury at the 2009 Venice Film Festival. In 2024, she served on the jury of the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria International Film Festival. She is co-artistic director of the Tertio Millennio Festival and has participated, as a lecturer, in the film criticism workshop at the French Embassy in collaboration with “Cahiers du cinéma”. In 2017, she served as artistic consultant for Terra Italiana – Italian Film Festival, based in Warsaw. Since 2012, she has been a member of the selection committee for the Venice Film Festival. Since 2022, she has been a member of the David di Donatello Short Film Commission.
