Cookie Policy
What is a cookie and what is it used for?
A cookie is a small file that is sent to the browser and stored on the user’s device when they access and use a website. Cookies enable the Website to function efficiently and improve its performance, including through the collection and analysis of aggregated information, which allows the Website operator to understand how to improve the structure of the Website and its sections. Cookies also enable the collection of information for statistical purposes, primarily to personalise the user’s browsing experience by remembering their preferences (for example, language, currency, etc.).
To ensure the Website functions properly and that pages are displayed correctly, scripts from external domains are used; however, these do not involve the installation of cookies or other tracking tools.
What cookies do we use?
Technical cookies
Technical cookies can be divided into navigation or session cookies, which ensure normal browsing and use of the Website (allowing, for example, the coordination of the modules that make up the Website’s pages or the linking of visited pages to the same browsing session), and analytics cookies, which are comparable to technical cookies only if used for the purpose of optimising the Website directly by the Website operator (so-called first-party analytics cookies), which may collect information in aggregate form on the number of users and how they visit the Website (for example, to compile statistics on the most visited pages, to collect aggregate data on visits by operating system, browser, etc.).
The use of session cookies is strictly limited to the transmission of session identifiers (consisting of random numbers generated by the server) and software usage data necessary to enable the safe and efficient browsing of the site: session variables (so-called cookies) can prevent the use of IT techniques that could potentially compromise the confidentiality of users’ browsing and do not allow the collection of personal data identifying the user. Session cookies are not stored permanently on the user’s device, but are recorded locally for periods of time determined by the session variables (the values of which, stored on the device’s hard drive, can in any case be deleted; it is also possible to disable cookies by following the instructions provided by the main browsers).
Cookies are not used for user profiling, nor are other tracking methods employed.
Data analysis via Google Analytics
The Website uses Google Analytics. This is a Google analytics tool which, through the use of cookies (performance cookies), collects anonymous browsing data for the purpose of analysing how users use the Website, compiling reports on Website activity and providing other information, including the number of visitors and the pages visited.
The Website does not use (nor does it allow third parties to use) the Google analytics tool to monitor or collect personally identifiable information. Google does not associate the IP address with any other data held by Google, nor does it attempt to link an IP address to a user’s identity. Google may also disclose this information to third parties where required by law or where such third parties process the aforementioned information on Google’s behalf.
For further information on how Google Analytics cookies are used and managed, please consult Google’s cookie policy at the following link: https://policies.google.com/technologies/cookies?hl=it&gl=it.
Third-party cookies
Third-party cookies are set by a website other than the one the user is visiting and reside on servers other than that of the visited site. Therefore, the use of data collected by these external operators via cookies is subject to their respective privacy policies. The use of third-party cookies is limited to what is necessary for the safe and efficient browsing of the Website and does not involve the direct collection by the Data Controller of personal data that identifies the user.
Whilst browsing the Website, the user may also receive cookies on their device that are sent to interact directly with social media platforms.
The Website incorporates Facebook and LinkedIn buttons and widgets. These services allow interaction with social networks, or with other external platforms, directly from the Website’s pages. Tracking cookies, in particular with regard to Facebook, will be used exclusively to identify online behaviour. This data is disclosed in an aggregated and anonymous form, for the purpose of monitoring the performance and usability of the website and tailoring services appropriately and effectively to users’ needs.
The Website does not, in any way, use this tool to collect personally identifiable data and does not associate any IP address with any other data held by Facebook.
Interactions and information acquired through these tools are, in any case, subject to the user’s privacy settings for each social network, and are accessible exclusively to the operators of those platforms.
For further information on how data collected by social networks is processed, please refer to the privacy policies of the providers of those services:
Some pages on the website incorporate Google Maps. When you visit a page containing Google Maps, or interact with the map (using the zoom function, or by clicking on it to enlarge it), cookies from Google may be set.
For further information on data collection via Google services, please refer to the privacy policy https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en-GB.
Use of the Google Maps service is also subject to the relevant Additional Terms of Service https://privacy.google.com/businesses/mapscontrollerterms/.
How can I disable cookies?
Most browsers are configured to accept, control or, if necessary, disable cookies via their settings. Please note, however, that disabling technical cookies, even partially, may compromise the functioning of the Website and/or limit its functionality.
Disabling third-party cookies, on the other hand, does not affect navigability in any way.
