Domenico is the young stationmaster of a small village, S. Marco di Lamia, where he has been working for years, performing the same tasks and routines day in, day out. One night, a distraught woman bursts into his office: it is Flavia, who has fled from a man who pretended to love her, but who in reality only wants to use her wealthy family to seal a deal. Flavia would like to leave immediately, heading straight to her parents’ home, but unfortunately the next train is at six in the morning. Little by little, Domenico’s shyness begins to charm Flavia, who laughs at his mannerisms, and the two begin to warm to one another, until the woman’s boyfriend turns up at the station, determined to take her back with him.

The 4K film restoration carried out by Cinecittà was performed in 2021 from the 35mm scene negative and sound positive. The main work carried out focused in particular on the removal of spots, scratches and stains. In terms of audio restoration, defects resulting from normal wear and tear of the medium were eliminated on a frame-by-frame basis.
