Thal Badaoui (Nomad Shadow)

Mariam, a rebellious young woman, is repatriated to the Western Sahara after ten years in Spain. She crosses the border back to her homeland, carrying with her the weight of failure and lost freedom. Unable to conform to her family’s rigid expectations, Mariam seeks an escape by rekindling her relationship with her ex-boyfriend and drawing closer to a network of hashish dealers – marginalised women living on a fragile independence, in whom she glimpses something of herself. But her search for meaning leads her into ever deeper isolation.
