Giuseppe Miraglia is an elderly deaf man so resigned to the idea of death that he refuses to have his gangrenous foot amputated. His daughter and carer find themselves bewildered as they witness the \u2018death\u2019 of the foot. What is one to do with a piece of a dead body? The question will trigger a series of paradoxical events culminating in the foot\u2019s funeral and Giuseppe\u2019s hope of uniting the family, if only for a moment.
